If you've been following at all, you should be up to date and know that tomorrows final will be Ontario vs NS. We had a great match in round robin play so, we're expecting the same in the final. I'm not going to lie, it would be nice to have more than three fans tomorrow. Those three fans being Alan (one of our drivers) his wife Pam and our other lovely driver Pat. If we're lucky Mr. Ron Joyce will make an appearance, and being the faithful Nova Scotian that he is hopefully he will round out our fan base to .... 4. To everyone back home have fun refreshing, love you lots.
We decided to leave tonight's event fairly early, but there was a great live band, people dancing (we left by 10:00) and there was a constant line up at the bar..... thinking forward to tomorrow night. I'm not planning on being in front of the computer at this time of night. I'm thinking, I'll be having beers with my team and all of the great people that I've met this week.
It has been a fantastic week, I'm actually thinking that maybe I might make this my one and only mixed national event. This week has been organized so well that I'm just not sure that the other clubs can challenge it (yes, that is a challenge, so if you can top it I want to see it).
Thanks for following the Side Burner for the past week everyone. I hope you enjoyed the on ice perspective at this years 2010 Mixed Championship. I know that I enjoyed my second steamy experience (I'm talking about the steam room at the club) today and will have to head back to reality in Halifax very soon.
I'm hoping that there are no more gripper bits on the ice tomorrow (it's the final, no one wants to see picks), but I'll do my best to fill you in on our final day at the mixed.
Thanks to everyone on the host committee, the officials, the ice crew and the curlers..... it's takes all of us to make the sport that WE all love so much to make it all happen.
